Stand opposite the mirror:
1. Disrobe and stand in front of a mirror with your arms at your sides. Look at your breasts:
-Check that their shape and size has not changed.
-The skin should be smooth; there should not be any folds or rough areas.
-The lower rim should have a regular outline.

1- Now raise your arms and compare both breasts. Look for any difference between both armpits. |

2- Lower your arms until they are at your shoulders’ level join you hands in front of your neck and push forward in order to tense your muscles and make any change in your breasts more obvious.

3- With your arms at your sides observe closely your nipples and areolas checking the following:
-Changes in its size and shape.
-Presence of wounds or rash.
-Gently squeeze each nipple between your index finger and thumb and check for nipple discharge.

4- Lie down, place a towel or a pillow under your shoulder, raise your left arm and put it under your head. Insert your right hand in the glove and follow the instructions:
-Spiral pattern
Starts in the lower breast and goes up to the nipple.

5- Wedge pattern
Divide your breast into eight parts and feel without leaving any part.

6- Concentric pattern
Sweep your fingers in concentric circles, taking the nipple as the centre
|
|
7- Up and down pattern
Cover your whole breast with an up and down movement.
|
|
8- Once you have finished, without changing position explore your left armpit.
|
Change the pillow/towel to the right shoulder and put this arm under your head. Feel your breast with your left hand just as you have done with your right breast.
